St. Nicholas Resto. A new destination for Foodie Lover.

St. Nicholas Catering Services. A new destination for Foodie Lover.
Unique. Quality. Yummy. Affordable.

My friend Daryl invited me for sweets around 9:30PM Father’s Day night. His treat of course, haha! He was so persistent in bringing me into this new foodie hub in Mandaluyong to pig out. He said he was really curious about their desserts so he wanted to tag me along and taste it as well.

When we got to the place, it was an old house turned into a restaurant. It was so homey and very pleasantly comfortable. I noticed the statues and figurines and majority of the designs are separated by sections. It gives a certain vibe that is kinda romantic and not too exposed which is very rare to find nowadays. We were seated on a table that can be set-up for a date-like event. There are white curtains that can be rolled down for a more private feel. The ambiance is very cozy. There are several tarps on the wall and divides the room into different setting. The background of the stage has Cherry Blossoms on them. Who needs to go Japan if you can have it right there? Some of the tables are also equipped with board games so customers can play while waiting for their food to be served. At the center of the restaurant is a huge signage that says L-O-V-E. Impressive!

As I review the menu, I found some dishes that are really unique and I haven’t tasted so far. It made the trip worthwhile. Some of the foods that caught my attention were:
  • Tinolang Chicken sa Pakwan
  • Paru-Parong Tilapia with Sweet Tamarind Sauce
  • Tapang Kabayo, Baboy-Ramo at Usa
  • Adobong Crocodile
  • Okoy Gulay
  • Civet “Alamid” Coffee being The Most Expensive Coffee in the World
  • Liquors
Below is the complete set of what they can offer to their valued customers.

So, for the desserts – Daryl ordered Chocolate Lava Ala Mode (for sharing) and two banana strawberry shake (Yum!). When I tasted it, I was surprised because the cake was warm and it matched the cold chocolate ice cream. The technique is to slice it in the middle to showcase the overloading chocolate filling. Whoaaa! Very mouth-watering! I can still recall its delicious taste. The food was exquisite. It’s like I am eating in a five-star hotel except for the fact that this is more affordable! Our bill was less than Php 500.00 for the entire order.

We also got a chance to meet the General Manager and Proprietor of St. Nicholas Catering, Nick Pelaez. He was very accommodating and told us bits and pieces of stories as to how the business started. He initially set-up a catering service and the business was extended in a form of a restaurant whom he manages single-handedly.
